Tobias Haensch
Tobias Haensch is a biochemistry student from the Leipzig University in Germany. Tobias is working in the lab during the summer of 2015 because of the collaboration between Prof. Dr. Vsevolod V. Gurevich and the German Prof. Dr. Annette Beck-Sickinger. He got a scholarship from the Max-Kade-Foundation.
Tobias is investigating the structural basis of arrestin-3-mediate scaffolding of ASK1-MKK4/7-JNK1/2/3 signaling cascades. Therefore he is expressing a JNK mutant and is performing different binding assays to test binding of the JNK3 mutant to arrestin-3 by Coomassie staining and Western blot. Arrestin-3 could be used to lower activation of JNK3 which is implicated in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s, Parkinsons’s and Huntington’s disease.
