Rebecca Cox, Ph.D.

As an undergraduate research assistant to Drs. Jennifer Peszka and Jennifer Penner at Hendrix College, Rebecca studied the effects of sleep deprivation on mating decisions. She also conducted an independent study under Dr. Tim Maxwell to examine the associations between stimulant abuse and depression, anxiety, and personality facets. Rebecca spent a year as a post-baccalaureate research assistant in the EARL lab and coordinated a study looking at the effects of genetics and fear learning on PTSD symptoms in trauma-exposed veterans. She attended Vanderbilt University from 2014 and received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology in 2021. She completed her psychology internship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at University of Colorado Boulder. Rebecca is now an assistant professor in the department of psychological and brain sciences at Washington University in St. Louis.
