Vera K. Powell

Undergraduate Student, Environmental Sociology, Law, History & Society, and Chemistry


Vera Powell is a freshman majoring in Environmental Sociology and Law, History & Society with a minor in Chemistry. Vera became involved in the Drinking Water Justice Lab in early 2024 and is interested in utilizing research to tackle issues of environmental injustice and to prevent climate-related health risks. Her ultimate goal is to attend law school and work in environmental law. Prior to working in the lab, Vera worked as an environmental analyst intern at Eastern Research Group, Inc. under two environmental engineers where she was first exposed to collecting and applying environmental research data. Vera is excited to learn more and grow in her research abilities within the lab.
