Mira LaRocca is a senior double-majoring in Human and Organizational Development and Medicine, Health, and Society. Fall 2023 will be Mira’s first semester working as an undergraduate research assistant at the Drinking Water Justice Lab. In Fall 2022 Mira took an HOD Health and Human Services track class, Water Justice, with Dr. McDonald and is excited to continue learning about water and health justice in the United States after her spring semester abroad. Within this course Mira gained experience with data visualization and geospatial analysis using the tool ArcGIS. Mira will be working with Emmie Sathy on a project mapping fluoride levels in community water systems across the United States, with a focus on Tennessee as the Department of Health seeks a grant from the CDC for dental services interventions.
