Camden B. Harris
Undergraduate Student, Human & Organizational Development and Chemistry
Camden is a junior majoring in Human and Organizational Development (HOD) and minoring in Chemistry, with a pre-dental focus that fuels a passionate interest in the Drinking Water Justice Lab (DWJL) at Vanderbilt University. Camden’s commitment to oral health as a fundamental aspect of overall well-being aligns with the DWJL’s mission to foster equitable access to oral health resources. Through a previous internship at the Interfaith Dental Clinic, a nonprofit dedicated to serving underserved communities in Nashville and Middle Tennessee, Camden has led innovative initiatives to enhance patient communication. These initiatives leveraged artificial intelligence to provide active translation services, AI avatars, and personalized care, demonstrating a forward-thinking approach to healthcare.
At DWJL, Camden is eager to apply this innovative mindset to address disparities in oral health through research and advocacy. By integrating a strong background in chemistry and a keen interest in health equity, Camden aims to explore the intersection of environmental justice and oral health. This includes investigating how access to clean and safe drinking water can impact community health outcomes, particularly in underserved areas.
