Amy N. Podraza, M.P.S.

Amy Podraza is a second-year doctoral student in the Community Research and Action program at Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College. Previously, she received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Government as well as a minor in Art and Visual Technology from George Mason University in 2015. She graduated with her Master’s in Disaster and Emergency Management in 2022 from Georgetown University. While completing her master’s, she worked as a consultant for state and federal government agencies, focusing on strategic communications and COVID-19 recovery. Currently, at Vanderbilt, she is part of the Drinking Water Justice Lab, where she has worked on multiple projects including the Community Water Estimated Boundary Project. Her research interests include community resilience around hazards, climate change, and societal issues, as well as environmental health and justice.
