At Baba Lab, We are a part of the Vanderbilt Biophotonics Center and focus on multidisciplinary scientific investigations. We pursue clinically relevant discoveries and developments with an emphasis on utilizing non-contact, label free, minimally/non-invasive approaches whenever possible that are translatable for low-cost use in low resource environments. Our specialty is in integrating multimodality biophotonic approaches such as light scatter, polarization and spectroscopy.
Our process entails modeling and simulating ideas and concepts to better understand the underlying principles and exploiting them for optimized implementation in developed prototypes that are used for fundamental hypothesis investigations and/or preclinical/clinical proof-of-concept demonstrations.
